Business Functions

Each IVR application that you create is comprised of two or more Business Functions (BF). There are many different BFs available to choose from when building an application, each with its own set of characteristics and behaviors. To build an application simply click and drag BFs from the Toolbox to the Canvas.

All BFs added to your IVR design must be connected to one another. Each BF is equipped with one or more terminals. These terminals are connection points that lead the call flow from one BF to another. A terminal located at the top of a BF is an Input Terminal, whereas a terminal located on the side and/or bottom of a BF is an Output Terminal. Input terminals are the access points to the BF while the output terminal is the exit point of the BF. The connecting arrow starts from a BF Output Terminal and arrives at the Input Terminal of another BF.

Most BFs have an Input Terminal and an Output Terminal. BFs that begin a call flow, such as an Entrypoint (see image below, left), will not have an input terminal and BFs that end a call flow, such as a Hang Up (see image below, right), will not have an output terminal.

The rest of this section describes the different BFs and how to use them.
