Table 3: Rotation Manager Field Descriptions and Button Functions | |
Rotation Information | |
Description | Type the name for the new rotation. |
Start Day | Click the date picker and select the start day for the rotation. |
Days | The rotation duration in days. This is calculated based on the days selected for every shift in this rotation for dates ranging from Sunday to Saturday. The rotation duration is calculated automatically (e.g. When 5, this indicates the rotation duration is 5 days) and equals the sum of all days appearing in the Days column of the Shift Information section. |
Hours Work | The total number of working hours for the rotation. This is calculated automatically to create the rotation using the follows formula: Shift Start + Shift End – Break Info and equals the sum of the Hours Work in the Shift Information section. |
Shift Information | |
Index | A sequential numbering system for the shift list. |
Shift | The shift name. |
Days | The duration of the shift (e.g. 1 indicates the shift occurs on 1 out of the 5 days of the rotation, 2 indicates the shift occurs on 2 out of the 5 days of the rotation, etc.) |
Week Pattern | Visual representation of where in the week the shift occurs during the rotation; each shift is color-coded. |
Hours Work | The total number of working hours for the specified shift; this total does not include breaks. |
Mixed | Select to create a single rotation combined with more than one shift. For example, a rotation consists of the following shifts and times from different days: Monday 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Thursday 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The Mixed checkbox must be selected in order for each of the shifts to be included in the single rotation. If the Mixed checkbox is not selected, then only one shift will be scheduled per week, the system will assume each shift selected is assigned to a different week. |
Buttons | |
Add Shift | Click to add a shift to the Shift Information table. |
Insert Shift | Click to insert a shift to the Shift Information table. |
