Adding a WhatsApp channel in MessageBird

Adding a WhatsApp channel in MessageBird

After creating your MessageBird account as indicated in Creating a MessageBird account, you can add a WhatsApp channel.

To add a WhatsApp channel

  1. On the menu bar to the left of the Dashboard, click WhatsApp to expand the menu, and then click Install Channel. The WhatsApp Business API wizard appears.

  2. Click Get Started to proceed. In the page that appears, confirm that you have a personal Facebook account and a Facebook Business Account by selecting the checkbox.
    TIP: If you have neither, click Create a new account to create the accounts you need.

  3. Click Next: Phone number to proceed. In the page that appears, confirm that you have a phone number you can use for WhatsApp by selecting the checkbox.
    TIP: If you do not, click Contact support for assistance. You will be directed to MessageBird’s service desk page where you can submit a ticket. MessageBird’s support team will help you from there.

  4. Click Next: Channel creation to proceed. In the page that appears, you will be directed to create a WhatsApp business channel using your Facebook Business Manager. The next article, Creating a WhatsApp channel using Facebook Business Manager, will guide you through the steps.
