Setting up the MessageBird integration within CC Admin Portal

After you set up your MessageBird account and WhatsApp number as explained in Setting up a MessageBird account and WhatsApp channel, you need to configure the MessageBird integration within CC Admin Portal.

The information you need comes from your MessageBird account. More specifically, you MUST gather the information from:

  1. The WhatsApp channel you configured in Adding a WhatsApp channel in MessageBird.

  2. API settings from the Developers menu.

  3. API access from the Developers menu.

To set up the MessageBird integration in CC Admin Portal

  1. Log on to CC Admin Portal.

  2. Navigate to Integrations > SMS and Messaging > MessageBird. The integration page appears.

  3. Enter the following information:

    1. Channel ID: Copy the Channel ID from the WhatsApp channel page in MessageBird and paste it here.

    2. Phone number: Copy the Phone number from the WhatsApp channel page in MessageBird and paste it here.

    3. Live Key: Copy the Live API key from the API access page in MessageBird and paste it here.

    4. Sign Key: Copy the Signing Key from the API settings page in MessageBird and paste it here.

    5. (Optional) Alert when sign key is invalid: Click to select so you receive email alerts when the Sign Key is invalid. In the Email box, enter the email address where you want to receive the alerts.
Important: Because of system limitations, we CANNOT validate the Sign Key via the interface. This means that if you enter an incorrect Sign Key while the rest of the information is correct, the system WILL save your settings. However, the integration will not work and you will not receive WhatsApp messages. This checkbox is designed to counteract this limitation. If you select it and enter an email address, you will receive a notice when the Sign Key is invalid. The image below shows an example of this email:
