Here you can define settings relating to collecting personal information from a customer (e.g. first name, last name, email address, etc.).

Select one or more of the General Settings options to be used for a chat session:

  • Chat window logo URL – Provide a URL for the Logo you want displayed in the chat window. This logo will appear on all chat screens. To show no logo, leave the Chat logo url field blank.

Logos are displayed in their real dimensions. The recommended size for the logo is 150 pixels wide x 70 pixels high.

  • Collect customer's information before initiating the chat session – Select this option along with one or more of the listed customer request options (e.g. capture fist name, capture last name, etc.).

If selected, the customer will be presented with the defined Welcome message and the Collect Customer Information screen containing all the fields selected here; this screen allows customers to provide personal information about themselves and their inquiry (see screenshot below). The following is a list of options that can appear on the Collect Customer Information screen:
    • Request customer's first name – The client will be requested to enter his first name when initiating a chat.
    • Request customer's last name – the client will be requested to enter his last name when initiating a chat.
    • Request customer's inquiry – The client will be requested to enter a brief summary of why the chat is being initiated.

If the Inquiry is Mandatory checkbox is checked, the customer must provide information for that field. Mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk.

If the Collect customer's information option is not selected, no Collect Customer Information screen will be presented, and the customer will advance directly to the Wait in Queue screen.
