Evaluator Templates have been enhanced with a feature that makes completing evaluations more intuitive, and report output cleaner and more actionable.

Evaluator Optional / Not Applicable

We’ve all been there. You’re completing an evaluation (or any type of survey, for that matter), and you come across a question that doesn’t strictly apply to the situation at hand. What do you do?

If the template doesn’t allow for logic flexibility, the answer is often “pick a somewhat random answer and move on.” This poses a couple of potential issues: a) the validity of the current evaluation suffers, and b) the output down the road, once you run your reports, is more difficult to manage.

Enter the Evaluator Optional / NA feature. With this change, you can now choose when building a template whether to enable “Optional” for each category. If Optional is enabled, the user completing the evaluation will see a “Not Applicable” checkbox for that category.

When the user clicks Not Applicable:

  • The question will have no answer value of any kind (text, score, etc.)

  • The answer to this question will not count toward the evaluation total.

  • No matter what type of question it is (e.g. yes/no, multi-select), the Not Applicable value will take precedence.

How do I get this feature?

  • If you’re already using Evaluator, no intervention is required in order to take advantage of this update.

  • If you’re not using Evaluator, but would like to, please contact your Service Provider.
