Hosted DID is used to route calls directly to agents without having to publish the agent's number to the PSTN. It works by routing incoming calls received on a public (published) number to the corresponding agent. The call is then connected to the phone number the agent is signed in with. If the agent is not signed in, the call is completed to a "private" number designated for the agent.
